Full Moon Featuring Neil Larsen & Buzz Feiten (aka Larsen-Feiten Band - Full Moon) - 1982 - Warner Bros.
Buzz Feiten was a session guitarist for many great artists, including Stevie Wonder. In the mid 1970s he formed Full Moon with Neil Larsen who released a brilliant s/t album which included members of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. This album is more in the jazz pop vein than other Larsen and/or Feiten or Full Moon releases. There is not much jazz fusion here, but many of the tracks have good melodic hooks, and all the music is expertly executed. The strongest tracks are the instrumentals. The album is still enjoyable, and Buzz Feiten's guitar work will give merit to any album. Search this blog for more info about Neil Larsen and Buzz Feiten.

Hey,Eric. Thanks x 1000,000 for those magic links...Something else!! You can get me @
anoverdoseoffingalcocoa AT operamail. COM Thanks again, friend
Oh you very welcome :D
I'm pleased to give something back after all the great stuff you share.
I first heard of Full Moon and the Epic records innersleeve for my Beck, Bogert,Appice album from 1973.
They gave little prewviews of new releases.
Orig. S/T Full Moon vinyl is a hard album to locate.
I'll save your contact info. as I'm sure I'll see something else @ some point you may like.
Hi, Eric. You are very kind. I welcome your comments and your valuable information. It's great to hear from someone with such a genuine interest in good music. I'll talk to you soon. Cheers for now!
Why thank you sir :D
You're not too shabby yourself with your musical knowledge and obvious passion for it.
Hi!
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you to thank you for the new links to the Steely Dan covers you re-posted. I have been having an evil computer hardware rebellion...it's a mutiny!
I was in the process of writing a few of my impressions of the three albums and lost the lot along with a few other tasty things, luckily I keep a fairly up to date back up drive so I didn't really lose too much other than time and a bit of money...the tunes still remain!!
Anyway thank you very much for reposting. Hoops McCann is a complete gas...incredible.
I doubt I would have ever paid much attention to Sara Isaksson & Rebecka Törnqvist other than a superficial appreciation of their tight harmony and vocal qualities but their chosen material and their treatment of it (along with your recommendation) made me stop and give it a god listen. Fantastic. What interesting interpretations of SD...pretty amazing. Many of Don and Waly's songs sound kinda Celtic when the girls put their spin to them...great stuff.
The Justin Morell is interesting but hasn't really hit my music bone yet. Possible a bit more listening or the right mood will endear them to m a bit more.
I also wanted to get your email address which just happened to be in this string! Lucky.
I have been surfing around and it seems like more and more music blogs are being abandon or shut down for one reason or the other...one day there and the next gone. I would hate to lose a new acquaintance like yourself now that I have found a bird of similar plumage. Much of our musical taste seems to run in a similar direction. I am frankly in awe of the depth and breadth of your knowledge and collection of music.
Again Thanks for your efforts in those SD reposts and, of course, your entire blog.
Cheers, Yim :)
How are you, Yim? About a year ago, I was reinstalling a fresh copy of Windows. I normally keep all my music backed up. However, after reinstalling, I realised I had lost 160 Gb of Steely Dan related music which I had kept in a forgotten about folder which I had meant to transfer to a new 1 Tb hard drive I had bought. A lot of the stuff was collected over years, and was irreplaceable. Oh, well. I learned a valuable lesson. Yes, I am worried about the number of blogs disappearing. Many people are switching to Wordpress which is also vulnerable. I have all my blog stuff backed up, but it would take a hell of a lot of work to compile a new blog. Still, if it comes to the worst, I'll sort out something. Justin Morell does some very complex Dan arrangements. I'm listening to that album for two years now, and it is full of musical nuances which are not immediately obvious. However, it is a brilliant album. I love Sara and Rebecca's versions. They practically sing Walt & Don's tunes note for note. There is a beautiful, ethereal quality in their voices. My favourites are Barrytown, Rose Darling, and Gaucho. Mail me anytime,Yim. You're a kindred spirit, and a good musical soul mate. TTU soon!
Thank you Eric. I like that word "shabby". Reminds me of some of today's excuses for music! TTU soon!
Lol, yeah "today's music"...
Don't get me started :P
Check your email I scanned the Full Moon blurb I mentioned and am sending via email.
It's small, but kind of cool to see the buzz when they first emerged.
Gotcha, Eric! Check your in-box. TTU soon
Its late at night and I was sitting here at the computer thinking of some of the tunes my friends and I used to listen too. I typed in Larson Feiten Band looking for Full Moon Album and found this site. I love the song Brown Eyes very much. It reminds me of my old girlfriend. I'm now off to dig out that vinyl album. Since it been played maybe only five times, I'd better copy it to CD too.
Thanks for listing the tracks.
Hank
Hi, Hank. Plenty of nostalgia on this blog! Thanks for comment, and keep in touch. Cheers!
