Johan Randen

Johan Randen - Version 2.0 - 2005 - Thunderstruck

Born in Sweden in 1988, Randen started playing guitar at the tender age of 9. He made his first public appearance at Sweden Rock Festival at the age of 11, playing with Swedish power rock trio Freak Kitchen. At age 11 he also made a stunning appearance performing Frank Zappas polyrhythmic nightmare “Black Page”. Only 12 years old Randen began recording his debut album with mentor/good friend/guitar hero Mattias “IA” Eklundh, guitar player and lead singer with Freak Kitchen and (Favored Nations) solo artist. His debut album “Lead Guitar” was released worldwide in the spring of 2001. So far the album has received great reviews in Scandinavia, USA, Russia and Japan. In the spring of 2003, Randen visited Japan for a very successful clinic/promotional tour including TV interviews and a DVD recording for Japanese guitar magazine “Young Guitar”. Version 2.0 is Randen’s second album, featureing 14 all instrumental tracks packed with innovative and tasteful playing. Randen has developed a unique sound at a very young age which can be heard throughout all of the tunes. © 2013 Last.fm Ltd. All rights reserved. http://www.last.fm/music/Johan+Randen

"Version 2.0" is Johan’s second album, featuring 14 all instrumental tracks. Johan developed a unique sound at a very young age which can be heard throughout all of the tunes. He released his first album at thirteen. The guy is still only 25 but he plays some very advanced stuff and in the years to come, he will be a major player in the guitar world. Eight of the 14 tracks on this album are under three minutes long. It would have been nice to hear these tunes developed more fully. Some of Johan’s influences include Steely Dan, Jay Graydon, John Mayer, Brecker Brothers, Steve Lukather, Thin lizzy, Weather Report, Queen, and Bruce Hornsby. Check out his “Summary” album and view some great video clips @ http://www.truthinshredding.com/2006/09/johan-randen-terribly-synthetic.html P:S: Can anybody provide a correct credits list for this album? Thanks [All tracks @ 320 Kbps: File size = 97 Mb]
