Various Artists - Guitar Battle - 1997 - Victor (Japan)
Contrary to the album's title, there is no war going on here to decide who is the "greatest" guitarist. The album is simply a collection of six tracks highlighting the incredible guitar skills and techniques of guitarists of the calibre of Michael Lee Firkins, Steve Morse, John Petrucci, Andy Timmons and more. There are covers of George Harrison's "Something", Chuck Berry's "Memphis", Prince's "Purple Rain", Josef Zawinul's classic "Birdland", and Tiny Bradshaw, Howie Kay, & Lois Mann's "Train Kept A Rollin'". Al Pitrelli contributes his "Mambo King" to the album. If you like great guitar by some of the world's greatest exponents of the instrument, then listen to this album which is HR by A.O.O.F.C [All tracks @ 320 Kbps: File size = 90.4 Mb]
