Shane Theriot - Highway 90 - 2000 - Orchard

Shane Theriot is a unmistakable, vibrant guitarist from Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.A.) who describes his style as rock/fusion, as demonstrated on his latest release, "Highway 90". Theriot lists ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Recording with bassist Adam Nitti and Vinnie Colaiuta on new CD, various projects in Nashville, Hamer clinics and touring Europe and Japan this year with the Neville Brothers." "A great player. The secret is out!" - Paul Barrere, Little Feat

"(Hwy 90) is a CD that I'm real proud to have been a part of - a great record" - Victor Wooten

"He hops from quasi-bop to shuddering drop-D crunch to bogus Baroque to slippery country licks, to pina colada acoustic with the seamlessness of spandex!" - Guitar Player Magazine

"A master of accessible melodies that always take an unexpected turn. A player in the big picture category; Shane commands interest from his intro all the way to the fade-out." - John Stix, Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazine

"Harmonic underpinnings run deep in Theriot's hands- even a simple blues becomes a canvas for colorful extensions and unique voicings" - Guitar Player Magazine (Dec. 2000)

A solid album of good progressive jazz-blues with fusion, and some New Orleans style funk in the mix. Shane is a terrific guitarist who doesn't need to rely on meandering mind numbing guitar solos to get his point across. He is a classy, subtle, stylish and polished guitarist with a great sense of thematic development. Some of the great musicians on this album include Victor Wooten, Art Neville, Johnny Neel, Tom Reynolds, Randy Hoexter, Adam Nitti, Kim Stone, Paul Chapman, J.D. Blair, David Northrup, "Mean" Willie Green, and Jim Roberts. Some of these musicians have played with bands of the calibre of the Neville Brothers, The Meters, Govt. Mule, The Allman Bros, Spyro Gyra, and the Rippingtons. " Highway 90" is a class album and HR by A.O.O.F.C.
