Lee Ritenour

Lee Ritenour - Lee Ritenour's 6 String Theory: A Guitar Celebration - 2010 - Concord Records

Spectacular album by 20 great guitarists covering many different genres, including blues, jazz, rock, and even a classical track played by 16-year-old Shon Boublil from Montreal, the winner of Lee Ritenour’s Yamaha Six String Theory Guitar Competition. Other musical contributors include Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, John Beasley on keyboards, Nathan East and Tal Wilkenfeld on bass. Ten of the fifteen tracks were composed or co-composed by artists playing on this album. There are also covers of Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason”, Mellin & Woods’ “My One and Only Love”, Mancini & Mercer’s “Moon River”, Sting & Dominic Miller’s “Shape of My Heart”, and Max Middleton’s “Freeway Jam”. Quite a mixed bag but every track is worth hearing just to hear the amazing range of guitar styles and techniques by some incredible guitarists like George Benson, Joe Bonamassa, Steve Lukather, and arguably the greatest all round guitarist in the world today, Guthrie Govan. It’s rare to get so many music legends together to record an album like this, and hats off to Lee Ritenour. Magical stuff and HR by A.O.O.F.C [All tracks @ 320 Kbps: File size = 167 Mb]
