Mathieson, Laboriel, Landau & Colaiuta - Live At The Baked Potato 2000 - 2001 - LMNOP Music

Recorded live on June 9th, June 10th, and July 15th 2000 at The Baked Potato, North Hollywood, LA, this is a a powerful fusion statement by the supergroup known as the "Dyno-Four". The band plays entirely instrumental jazz grooves with plenty of improvised jamming. Greg Mathieson plays keyboards and is joined by the brilliant Michael Landau on guitar, Abe Laboriel on bass and the great Vinnie Colaiuta on drums. Greg has said that "There are no overdubs or fixes. The rules for this band were no rehearsals and no sound checks. Just show up to the gig and count it off! So with those rules the band played with freedom, joy and abandon, and that made for some really great moments. As a musician there have been so many great moments that have not been recorded, and that's why I'm so grateful that these were". This album is HR by A.O.O.F.C. [ All tracks @ 256 Kbps: 2 x rar files: Disc 1 = 106 Mb, & Disc 2 = 120 Mb]. Buy the Greg Mathieson Project's "Baked Potato Super Live!" album for more great fusion grooves

I have been downloading bits & pieces from your site for some time now.
I apologise for not leaving a comment earlier.
I cannot but extol my admiration for your ability to showcase rarity & quality.
I Live in SW France & I make it priority to support internatiional artists when they appear in my region.
Otherwise my music collection will be passed to my youngest son & in that way I hope that your efforts will benefit future generations.

Hello, Hibberni. Thank you very much for your comment. That is my objective - to promote the less well known artists, many of whom are ignored by the media. I hope in some very small way that people may have discovered quality music through my blog. I know that you have, and that makes me very happy. I love to hear young kids taking an interest in some of the lesser known bands. Many of today's youngsters are being "force fed" a musical stew of absolute trash. My young nephew of 11 is now learning to play jazz guitar. He listens to Steely Dan's "Aja", and music by Horace Siver, Dave Brubeck and othere. I have to admit that I eencouraged him to listen to this music, but in fact, he likes it because it's good. It's as simple as that. Good music will always last. History has proved that. Thanks again, and please keep in touch...P
