“…will blow you away if you like technical progressive fusion…” - AURAL INNOVATIONS

Carl Roa stated guitar at the age of 15. His focus on guitar lead him to attended Berklee College of Music. After two years at Berklee, Carl went to the University of Miami to study music composition after gaining a music scholarship. After graduation Carl signed with Cane Records with the band Treehouse. The band’s debut cd was partially funded by one of Carl's all time guitar heroes Pat Metheny. Carl moved to New York with the Magic Elf band. Carl also became a producer and engineer for Magic Elf and other bands. “Eternity” is an exceptional instrumental album with Carl covering rock, blues and fusion with some brilliantly played classical arpeggios in the mix. The guy can play anything, and like many guitarists on this blog, “one of the best guitarists you have never heard of”. John Petrucci of Dream Theater said, "Carl Roa's playing on the new cd is phenomenal! Great work man!" The legendary Jethro tull’s frontman, Ian Anderson lauded Carl Roa’s "exceptional technical excellence." Modern Guitars” magazine described Carl Roa’s playing style as “a cross between Alex Lifeson, Joe Satriani, and Steve Morse. His tone is massive." Carl's unique and diverse playing style has put him at the forefront of today's progressive rock /jazz fusion scene. Carl penned eight of the album’s ten tracks. “Captain's Chair” was composed by the band’s bassist, Joe Ferlito, and Carl and his band also cover John Coltrane’s classic “Giant Steps”. “Eternity” is HR by A.O.O.F.C.
