Terry Quiett Band - Cut The Rope - 2008 - Lucky Bag Records

In an entertainment world that is constantly recycling images and trends, it's nice to take a step back and smell the home cooking that is rock and roll, no matter where the gig is. From dive bars to dance floors, one thing is for certain, with the Terry Quiett Band you can always be promised an original, blues-soaked, groove-inducing, soul-filled sound that isn't basted in the clichés of modern rock. In short, Terry Quiett Band has bled the simple sounds from the viscera of alternative rock and given it a stout injection of blues with a whiskey backbone. This band was made to make you cry, laugh, dance, scream, jump, juke, jive, hustle, bustle, and fall in love, all on the same evening...the kind of experience you can only gain through a touring, live band. The fact that they travel from city to city, town to town, to play for even the most meager crowd rekindles my faith in musical performers that still play because they actually want to... because they love to...because they need to. It's hard to find bands like that anymore and the Terry Quiett Band wears that badge proudly. © http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/terryquiett5

"CUT THE ROPE. Gawdamighty this CD is hot. If heaven is a blues bar, then TQB will be the house band. TQB evokes some of the classic rock and blues greats Clapton, Walter Trout, Robin Trower, Stevie Ray. Another round of beer here. Then put on TQB as loud as it can go and let me just plain enjoy." © Cap'n Barney ODD ROCK WMHB 89.7 FM in Maine

"Take the steely blues guitar sound from Stevie Ray Vaughn, match it with the rhythmic bass and drumming of Golden Earring and you get the Terry Quiett Band and one heck of a show." © Adam Reichenberger, Kansas State Collegian

The Terry Quiett Band has been called a "roof-rattling three-piece blues pop" band. At times the album leans towards the "commercial" side, but really, this is a good Rock'N'Roll album played in a Delta/Texas blues and R&B style with a touch of "the swamp", and also a nice soul jazz flavour. Terry Quiett is a very talented songwriter and guitarist, and his band is worthy of a bigger audience. Buy the band's "Shifting Gears" album, and support real music

BIOGRAPHY

Since 2006 the Terry Quiett Band has logged 200,000+ miles and played close to three-hundred shows across America's Heartland. From 6th Street in Austin to Beale Street in Memphis, they've mesmerized audiences with their original and contemporary blues-soaked sound. They've also paid their share of dues (and tolls) traveling the Rocky Mountains of Denver, the blue grass of Kentucky, and every state in between, winning fans and expanding their core grassroots audience with each performance. Their self-produced 2008 CD titled "Cut the Rope" sold out and has helped spread TQB's inventive blues-rock to over 300 hundred radio stations worldwide. Highlights include tracks spun on syndicated blues shows such as: Bluesville XM, Blues Deluxe and House of Blues Blues-mobile, and being ranked on the Top 20 radio chart in Maine for three consecutive months. In 2010 they entered the studio and recorded the album "Just My Luck" with world renowned, Grammy-winning producer Jim Gaines (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana, Steve Miller Band, George Thorogood, Luther Allison, Albert Collins) taking their sound to an entirely new level. They are looking for a release in early 2011. Along the way the Terry Quiett Band has shared the stage with international guitar legends including Jonny Lang, Robert Cray, 38 Special, the Doobie Brothers, Edgar Winter, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Walter Trout, Robin Trower, Tab Benoit, Eric Sardinas, Albert Cummings, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Bernard Allison, Bugs Henderson, Gary Hoey, and Lance Lopez as well as numerous talented regional artists. © 2010 Terry Quiett.
